Tahl Cosmetics is a new Brows, Lashes & Cosmetic Tattooing studio based in Fortieth & Hurstmere Studios, Takapuna Auckland. Tahlβs mission is to provide long term empowerment to women by enhancing our own natural beauty.

Talia first approached me seeking a brand designer to bring to life the identity for her new cosmetic studio, set to open in the Forteith and Hurstmere Studios in Takapuna, Auckland. Naturally, I was thrilled to work on a project based in my hometown.
With many years of extensive experience in the beauty industry, particularly specialising in brows, lashes, and cosmetic tattooing, Talia has built a reputation for her artistry, precision, and skill. She wanted a brand that not only reflected her expertise but also captured the feeling of luxury, timelessness, and sleek sophistication β with just the right touch of modern edge. To achieve this, we focused on a classic serif font, compressing the letters together to create a seamless, flowing design. The serif typeface conveys trust and credibility, perfectly mirroring the professionalism and mastery Talia brings to her craft.
We paired this typography with a warm, neutral colour palette ranging from soft cream to rich dark brown. The palette was carefully chosen to feel sophisticated, chic, and inviting, while still standing apart from neighbouring competitors and aligning with Taliaβs vision.
A key feature of this creative direction is the strong brand mark system. The designs include both square and rectangular variations, with a flipped rectangular version to suit vertical placements. The brand mark continues the compressed letterform joinery, carrying this detail into the border design. Using the letters of Tahl, the mark strikes a balance between legibility and artistry, offering a slightly abstract feel that elevates the brandβs visual identity.
These designs will soon be carried across signage, print, and an upcoming website, with Talia set to open her studio doors in late October 2025.
