Lia approached me to design the branding and website for her naturopathy business as she transitioned from her in-clinic job to starting her own practice. The inspiration for the brand name Ilio, is Ilios which comes from the Greek word for β€œsun,” holding deep significance for Lia by reflecting her Greek and Cypriot heritage and her personal connection to the sun’s powerful symbolism. It represents healing, life, energy, hope, renewal, and divinity β€” qualities that resonate with her holistic approach to health. Just as the sun provides energy and warmth, Lia aims to offer her clients the support and guidance they need to heal and thrive.

We really leaned into the meaning of Ilios and translated it throughout the entire brand identity. The logo design combines segments of a sun with segments of a plant, forming a cohesive square icon that reflects both warmth and holistic healing. This concept carried through to the colour palette, which draws from sun-inspired hues and natural tones to create an energetic but organic feel. The font choice, a funky, thick, slightly serif typeface, complements the curves of the brand mark while adding a youthful, approachable energy. Gradient designs, inspired by the sun and its radiance, were also integrated into the branding and website to reinforce this symbolism. Even the website design itself brings these elements together in a cohesive and artistic way, ensuring that every touchpoint, from logo to online presence, reflects the meaning, energy, and personality of Ilios.

The website was designed to match this bold and fun brand identity while remaining highly functional. Since Lia is still working as an in-clinic naturopath, the contact page features a waiting list form so potential clients can sign up and be contacted when she fully launches her business. We built the five-page site on Squarespace, which offered the flexibility to showcase her brand elements in creative ways, giving the site flair while maintaining usability. I sourced stock imagery that complemented the business feel and vibe and incorporated gradient backgrounds from the branding, reinforcing the bold and energetic style. Despite its playful and distinctive aesthetic, the website is intuitive and straightforward, ensuring visitors can easily understand the services and sign up for the waiting list.

Overall, the branding and website reflect Lia’s heritage, her personal values, and her approach to business, while creating a distinctive presence in the naturopathy market that stands out from competitors.
