Sam came to me wanting to revamp her existing Squarespace website. She had branding from years ago that she still loved, but felt her current site didn’t reflect it well — or her personality. She wanted a website that felt more like her: bright, bubbly, full of life, and aligned with the joyful, vibrant style of her photography. After reviewing her existing site and brand, I saw clear opportunities to bring the identity to life by leaning into the punchier colours in her palette and pairing them better to create a bold and playful look. We also refreshed the look with new font styles that added a modern twist without straying from her original brand.

Sam opted for a custom web package, so we explored several fun coded elements to make the site feel dynamic and fun. But her brief was clear: she wanted movement and animation, but nothing overwhelming — and the result strikes that perfect balance. We incorporated a scrolling slideshow gallery, a custom slide-out menu, a hover-activated blog gallery, and a confetti-style plugin to link back to her brand’s signature dots. I even made the cursor a coloured dot to tie in that playful detail. These dots were already part of her branding, but hadn’t been used creatively until now. I also designed custom shapes to replace standard buttons, helping the site feel more unique and personal.

The client journey was also carefully thought-out. We wanted to make sure potential clients can easily enquire with Sam through her existing booking software that we embedded into the contact page, to keep things streamline in Sam’s business as that was already working for her. This functional website experience will also minimise the chance of losing potential client’s on their journey to book.

Most importantly, Sam wanted her beautiful photography to be front and centre — something her previous site didn’t achieve. The new design is carefully built to showcase her imagery in a way that does justice to her work and truly reflects her brand.
